Genuine Rebuilding by Experienced Craftsmen
You’ll notice something different about our selection of quality, rebuilt pianos. They all look fantastic, sound and feel wonderful, and have been restored in a manner that preserves the historical integrity of the instrument. And because we stand behind our rebuilt pianos, we use genuine materials and only have our best craftsmen do the work.
Simply put, we replace everything that needs to be replace (including strings, tuning pins, pinblocks, and action parts) and preserve everything that should be preserved, like the original soundboard, keysticks, iron plates, and case pieces.

Rebuilt Piano Keys:
- If someone tells you a piano has been rebuilt, ask a lot of questions. Before putting any money down, ask to see the packing lists for all parts that were replaced.
- Always hire a technician, not a tuner, to evaluate any rebuilt piano you consider purchasing.
- It never makes economic sense to rebuild upright pianos.
- Beware of stores that claim to ‘specialize’ in rebuilt pianos or have more than a few of them around.
- Good rebuilt pianos are never sold online. The best rebuilders will only take select pianos to rebuild and will always want to sell them in the town where they do business.
- If it doesn’t say Steinway & Sons (or a very short list of other names) on the plate, the piano is not worth rebuilding.
We’ve only skimmed the surface of a very complex topic. Feel free to ask any other questions you have on the topic and we’ll be happy to respond.
