Our family was the first Schimmel piano dealer in the United States and this was the last new Schimmel piano our family sold. It’s fair to say that we are among the world’s experts on the Schimmel Piano. Now, this one-owner used Schimmel grand piano is available after being thoroughly checked over by our factory trained technicians and passing our demanding STAR inspection.
With longer strings and a larger soundboard than smaller pianos, this just under 7′ used grand piano boasts a rich, warm bass with sparkling, clear high notes. It is fun to play, with an intuitive keystroke and quick return.
Adding to the great feel is this used Schimmel Grand piano’s stunning case. Rich, European Walnut with sleek, smooth, curved carved legs and matching pedal lyre make it a one-of-a-kind. It also includes a unique adjustable artist bench, the likes of which we’ve never seen before. It adjusts with an ingenius crank – instead of a knob – making it easy to set the height. The tufted cover appears to be made of a very high quality fabric – maybe silk?
Another feature of this stunning Schimmel is the four position lid. Most pianos have two positions – up and down. Some pianos have a second prop stick, allowing the player to “turn down the volume” by placing the lid in a position in between open and closed. However, this brilliant piano has a third prop, allowing for a slightly open lid – perfect for practicing that special piece or listening to the player piano upgrade more softly.
If some people play in your house and others prefer to listen, there is a preinstalled player piano system that is more advanced than the Yamaha Disklavier or PianoDisc – truly the key to your family finding harmony. When nobody is playing this piano, you can still sit back and enjoy its wonderful sound!
This hand-crafted piano is a wonderful option for anyone who has considered a larger new or used Yamaha grand piano or similar models. It’s even priced far below off-brands from Eastern Europe like Petrof piano, Bohemia piano, Estonia piano, and Hailun piano.
Wilhelm Schimmel founded his piano company in Leipzig, Germany in 1885. Schimmel pianos are known by some as the “German Yamaha piano” because the companies use several similar techniques in building. For example, both are higher-tension designs that use a vacuum processed plate, known as “V-Pro.” These plates work well in pianos designed to have a brighter sound.
A used Schimmel grand piano in this condition is difficult to find at this low of a price. Visit us to day to see and hear it for yourself.
